As we progress on this journey, finance plays a critical partnership role to ensure we deliver our transformation outcomes both operationally and financially. You will the lead the accounting finance team ensuring that the finance nuts and bolts are in place ensuring that as the organisation grows, the finance team can scale to support it.

Reporting into the WPP IT Controller, the role holder will be responsible for period end close activities, fixed asset management, intercompany transactions, bank transactions, balance sheet reconciliation, financial and management reporting and a review of statutory reporting for certain countries.

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Responsible for end-to-end financial reporting of certain divisions within the WPP IT Finance landscape, including balance sheet ownership.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in processing general ledger entries, fixed assets transaction, banking transaction, preparing financial and management report, balance sheet reconciliation, supporting local statutory and tax (direct and indirect) in accordance WPP policies and procedures, local accounting standard and requirements.
  • Work closely with WPP Operating Units (OpCo) Finance to understand current activities and ensure all changes are reflected in financial statement.
  • Regularly track and resolve outstanding issues being identified and escalate to relevant parties as necessary
  • Coordinate month end process with a focus on continuous improvements, driving standardisation across all processes.
  • Ensure financial and non-financial information are reconciled and reported accurately and on time into the group consolidation system.

 

What you'll need:

  • Qualified accountant (i.e. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Degree or equivalent (i.e. MBA).
  • Significant post-qualified experience or external experience in Big 4 / Industry.
  • Experience of working in a matrix/global organisation desirable.
  • Proven experience in financial management.
  • Ability to manage high levels of pressure, prioritise work, monitor and track the status of project related tasks.
