About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, high-energy Field Marketing Manager to join the Field Marketing team in North America.There are two focuses for this role. One is owning and managing the national event program in North America. And the second part is to lead the event planning and execution for the Field Marketing East and the West regions.The national event program encompasses our largest events investments, and includes events such as Google Cloud Next and AWS re:Invent. 

You will leverage your expertise to plan, manage and run the National event program, to maximize the return on the $1m+ investment. This will mean working collaboratively across the organization, communicating effectively and taking the lead. For the event planning and execution for the East and West regions you will need to work hand in hand with the Sales, SE and SDR teams to build high-impact events from Conference sponsorships, regional Partner seminars to Executive engagement events. You will also need to help co-create the Field Marketing plan for both regions, this is a great opportunity to use and develop a broad skillset and make a big impact within our high-growth organization. 

You must be based in the New York City metro area for this role and will be expected to go into the office on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. 

You Will

  • Define the National Event program working with Sales / Marketing Leadership on the selection of events and recommendations of sponsorship levels.
  • Execute the National Events, working collaboratively and cross functionally to ensure we maximize the investment we are making in terms of opportunities added to the pipeline. 
  • Work closely with the SDR and Sales team on post event follow up, managing and communicating results across the business. 
  • Work closely with the Sales teams to understand pipeline needs and develop specific account-based marketing campaigns.
  • Co-create the regional Field Marketing plan for East and West to help create pipeline and accelerate the sales cycle in line with business goals and regional revenue targets.
  • Execute the Field Marketing events for the East and West regions working closely with the regional Sales, SDR and SE teams. 
  • Collaborate with Channel Partners, build relationships and run co-marketing event activity. 
  • Manage program spend and own campaign ROI tracking and development, sharing results and recommendations with the wider marketing team.

The Expectations

In your first 30 days, you will familiarize yourself with the National events plan, building out a comprehensive project plan. You will meet with the sales teams to understand their goals, pipeline needs and target accounts. We believe that it's important for you to take this first month to become familiar with our technology and our company.

After 3 months, you'll be fully integrated into the team. You will have started to execute the Field marketing events and develop your own field marketing programs for the region, working closely with the regional sales team.

You Have

  • 5-8 years of event management experience, ideally with a focus on B2B
  • Deep expertise in event planning and sponsorships including budgeting, negotiation, event and travel logistics
  • Demonstrated success owning the strategy, framework, development and execution for global, multichannel demand generation campaigns, targeting regional businesses.
  • The ability to scale, manage and motivate high performing teams
  • A data-driven mindset focused on setting and measuring KPIs and pipeline metrics
  • Experience delivering, accelerating, and expanding sales pipeline through regional marketing.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and budget management skills, with the ability to work across all levels of an organization
  • The ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment and run multiple concurrent project demands within established timelines

The annual anticipated base salary range for U.S. candidates for this role is USD $115,000 to $145,000, plus commission if a sales role. We set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location.  Actual salaries may vary and fall outside of this range depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, geographic location, skills, experience, and competencies. In addition, we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. Salary is one component of the Cockroach Labs’ total rewards package, which includes stock options, health insurance, life and disability insurance, funds towards professional development resources, flexible PTO, paid holidays, and parental leave, to name a few! Salaries for candidates outside the U.S. will vary based on local compensation structures.
