THE ROLE


Founded in the heart of Manchester’s historic textile district in 2006 by Mahmud Kamani and Carol Kane as boohoo, the group today is home to a portfolio of innovative on-line brands targeting a wide demographic and selling anything from fast fashion to homeware, beauty and premium clothing.

This is a new role created to support the Head of Sourcing and our newly promoted Group Souring Director. As a Senior Ethical Compliance Manager for the group, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our business operations align with ethical and sustainable practices. You will lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of our ethical compliance strategies, policies, and initiatives, driving a culture of responsible business conduct and social responsibility within the organisation.

This role can be based out of our central Manchester or Soho, London office.

YOUR TEAM

Responsible Sourcing and Product Operations is reimagining how the Group works globally. We cover Sustainability, Sourcing, Ethical Trade, Product Quality and Operational Efficiency. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING


Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee implementation of ethical compliance strategies, ensuring alignment with industry standards and sustainable practices both UK and International.
  •  Lead a team of international ethical professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead creation, communication, enforcement of ethical policies, fostering a culture of responsible business conduct.
  • Evaluate and monitor supplier adherence to ethical guidelines through audits and corrective actions.
  •  Provide comprehensive training to enhance employees' awareness and understanding of ethical considerations.
  •  Establish a robust monitoring system, preparing regular reports to track ethical compliance performance.
  •  Engage with stakeholders to communicate the company's commitment to ethical practices and address concerns.
  •  Conduct risk assessments, investigate non-compliance incidents, and implement effective corrective measures.
  •  Collaborate with cross-functional teams, staying updated on emerging ethical trends and promoting industry-wide initiatives.

Skills, qualification, and experience

  • Experience in ethical compliance management, with a focus on the retail or fashion industry.
  • Strong knowledge of ethical standards, international labour practices, sustainability principles, and relevant regulations.
  • Experience in developing and implementing ethical compliance programs, policies, and initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify, assess, and address ethical risks.
  • Familiarity with auditing processes and supplier management.
  • Ability and experience reading a social compliance audits
