The Senior Engineering Technician will provide advanced technical support for various aircraft programs, including A-10, C-130, F-15, F-35, F-16, C-17, KC-135, HH-60, HC/MC-130, and MQ-9. This role involves assisting in the development and execution of test plans, performing integration oversight for avionics and structural modifications, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards. The Senior Engineering Technician will work collaboratively with engineering teams and support personnel to facilitate successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in developing and executing Test and Evaluation Master Plans, Integrated Developmental Test (DT)/Operational Test (OT) Plans, and related documentation in accordance with contract Test and Reporting procedures.
· Provide technical oversight for avionics, mechanical, and structural integration, identifying integration issues and recommending solutions.
· Support systems engineering tasks, including drafting technical documentation, System Engineering Plans, and Risk Management Plans.
· Collaborate with military and contractor personnel to coordinate test planning and execution, including scheduling test facilities and drafting test cards.
· Conduct post-test data evaluations, assisting in problem identification and resolution based on operational experience.
· Prepare and present technical briefings and reports for various stakeholders, including contract Commanders and other military personnel.
· Mentor and train junior engineering technicians, providing guidance on technical processes and best practices.
Requirements
Required Experience:
· 5+ years of experience in engineering support, avionics, mechanical systems, or structural modifications within aerospace or defense.
· Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) and United States Air Force (USAF) test processes and procedures.
· Strong technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and comprehensive documentation.
Desired Experience:
· Experience with aircraft integration and modification programs, particularly in a military aviation context.
· Knowledge of risk management processes and systems engineering principles.
· Active Top Secret Clearance
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
