ABOUT THE ROLE:
This Engineering Manager will be responsible for one of our Applications teams. The Manager will primarily focus on people management, growth, and tactical operations of the teams under them, but still stay hands on to support and unblock the team. They will have both senior and junior ICs reporting into them and should be able to support career development for them. The Manager will be responsible for ensuring that their team is able to deliver on the product and technical roadmaps in a timely manner and working with senior leadership to get the necessary people and resources to accomplish these goals. The Manager will do whatever it takes to unblock their teams whether it is changing policy, pair debugging, or shipping a bug fix. The Manager will work closely with their director to create and execute on both short and long term strategy for their team.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Act as a people manager for senior and junior ICs. Support their career development and success at Regal Voice. You thrive on managing people and view it as a privilege. 
  • Overall accountability for one of our Applications  teams. Be able to deliver against the roadmap and work alongside Product to make these teams succeed.
  • Collaborate with your teams, Product, and Execs to create and execute strategy for the Agent Experience team.
  • Ship small changes to help unblock the team, triage, and fix smaller issues, and improve our code base.
  • Effectively delegate to those on your teams, while also being able to get in and unblock your teammates through coaching, pair debugging, and cross-functional collaboration with other organizations at Regal Voice
  • Be actively involved with hiring, including sourcing candidates, interviewing candidates, and onboarding for new employees

ABOUT YOU:

  • 6+ years of experience in Software Engineering, preferably working with technologies like React & Node
  • 2+ years of experience of Engineering Management
  • Experience managing and growing ICs
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to articulate the value of complex technical work to business stakeholders.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset - we’re an early-stage startup so we’re not just looking for someone to run a playbook. We want you to help build it.
  • Experience with system architecture and design. Be able to work with senior IC counterparts to build a technical roadmap that lines up to business priorities.
  • Experience in modern development practices and running agile teams.
