Senior Engineering Manager, Frontend

The Job

As the Senior Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading our one of our engineering team to design, develop, and enhance Panther’s web application using cutting edge technologies. The team’s primary focus is designing and implementing intuitive and user-friendly interfaces that allow customer to easily access and manage security features. Your team will empower flagship companies such as Figma, Dropbox, Snowflake, Hubspot, and more!

The Responsibilities

  • Growing and evolving the team through individual mentorship, hiring, and technical expertise
  • Partnering closely with product managers, product designers, engineers, and leads across the company to define your team’s vision and roadmap
  • Leading and participating in critical technical, design, and product discussions with leaders across the organization and company
  • Contributing to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Panther’s engineering management team
  • Ensuring engineering deliverables are delivered on time, to specification, with an emphasis on quality

 

The Requirements

  • A minimum of 5-years in engineering management is required, preferably with SaaS or cloud offerings in a high-growth company.
  • Experience with AWS and modern technologies such as React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and/or Serverless technologies
  • Experience leading all stages of the technology lifecycle, from identifying needs, to design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Experienced in assembling and leading high-performance frontend engineering teams, with a proven track record of developing talent.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience managing at all levels, including mentoring and coaching individual contributors on best practices in software engineering, technical architecture, and other complex technical challenges. They should also remain hands-on with the latest trends to some extent.
  • The ability to use critical thinking and strategic acumen to translate business priorities into an actionable engineering plan, along with appropriate metrics for tracking progress.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change. Possesses exceptional judgment and decision-making skills. Prior experience in a startup environment is strongly preferred.

Cash compensation range: $170,000 - $220,000 USD Annually

The cash compensation above includes base salary and on-target commission for employees in eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, all full-time Pantherinos are eligible to participate in our equity plan to receive Incentive Stock Options (ISO). Individual compensation packages are based on a few factors unique to each candidate, including their location, experience, and expertise, and may vary from the above-mentioned range.
