We are looking for a collaborative and customer focused and Engineering Manager to work within the ECS Technology function. This role is primarily a people leader role, managing and developing teams to effectively deliver amazing products to our customers.
Who we are Experian Consumer Services (ECS) are the team behind your Experian Free Credit Score, Experian Boost and the advanced Credit Expert product. We are an agile business, that has been through a complete technical and organisational transformation.

This role works within the ECS Technology team and works closely with cross-functional delivery teams that include Product Owners, Engineers, Designers and Quality Assurance specialists amongst others. The scope of our work means your teams will ship new code multiple times per day, using modern technologies creating a secure cloud-native platform that we are all proud of, and that our customers love.
We are looking for someone to lead one to two engineering teams to effectively deliver exciting customer journeys and features for our customers through the effective coaching, support and guidance of your teams as well as collaboration with stakeholders.

You will ensure the teams are adhering to the highest technical standards and support Agile methods to deliver the agreed technical customer outcomes. You must have strong experience of the software development lifecycle, have a sense of ownership for your area of responsibility and ultimately contribute to the success of your teams through cost-effective, on time, quality delivery.
· Manage high performing, effective and successful software engineering team(s)
· Attract, recruit, and retain the best talent into our engineering teams
· Deliver secure, resilient and quality software developed in such a way to support the ECS strategy, domain product roadmaps that will deliver positive customer outcomes and meet the agreed targets expected in your area of responsibility
· Provide guidance and support to multiple agile teams ensuring that best practice software development principals are adhered to
· Working with Product Owners on a technology roadmap that achieves the agreed business goals and provide a sustainable platform
· Develops and implement new approaches to support efficient and timely delivery within your teams
· Proactively drive continuous improvement initiatives for your area of responsibility
· Manages team performance and development, developing and promoting the team’s culture within the domain / area of responsibility
· Drives increased engagement through regular, transparent feedback using appropriate reward and recognition within your domain / area of responsibility
Ensure the security position of the products and services under your area of responsibility is always managed and remains secure
More about you
· Highly experienced people leader responsible for successful day-to-day people performance and recruiting talent into the teams
· Relevant industry experience managing and developing Agile teams to successfully deliver value-based outcomes to customers
· A proactive self-starter able to take on technical scenarios and find solutions through the team
· Experience of cloud development using AWS or Windows Azure
· Strong experience of delivering products using agile development methodology techniques, working directly with engineers/technical teams
· Has strong communication skills, verbal and written, and a good understanding of the use of different channels and formats for a diverse mix of audiences.
· Experience of working with diverse teams across multiple locations using multiple technologies to enable a digitally connected team
· Organised, identifies prioritises and delegates tasks within the team
· A keen eye for detail with the ability to see the implications of technical findings and issue
· Familiarity with development/agile tooling such as Jira, Mural, Confluence
· DevOps experience using CI/CD pipelines
· Experience navigating the complex landscape of technologies, 3rd party suppliers, internal and cross-department teams
