We’re looking for a Scala Developer who expects more from their career. This role is a chance to work with new technologies and build critical APIs for our commercial and internal applications, powered by our world-class data science. It’s an opportunity to join a dynamic and talented team, focused on allowing you to best utilize your skills and showcase your abilities. As a Scala Developer at dunnhumby, you will join an agile team contributing to and maintaining our API and CI/CD pipelines, working alongside other experienced professionals to deliver our software products. You will be well-presented, self-motivated, and have a clear passion for creating high-quality code and systems. You will seek out areas to automate and drive continuous improvements to our software development life cycle.
Expected skills:
Proficient in Scala and Python with understanding of Shell scripting
Solid understanding of high-quality coding, testing, and development practices
HLD, LLD, Design Principles , Distributed Computing and Functional programming
Experience with docker and Kubernetes
Experience with CI / CD tools (Octopus, Gitlab, Teamcity)
Preferable skills:
Database (Postgres, DataStore) experience with Query optimization & Index Optimization
Knowledge of spark and parquet
Experience in working with cloud technologies (We use GCP & Azure)
Infrastructure as code (Eg Terraform/helm)
Monitoring & Observability (Grafana)
