THE CHALLENGE:
- As a Senior Engineer you will be a part of an engineering team which will be delivering value by enabling other product-oriented teams.
- Our team is in charge of:
- providing battle tested development toolkits on which engineers can build business features (e.g. toolkit to create and deploy a Springboot Java service to Kubernetes),
- investigating various technologies and their applicability to the problems we are sailing towards,
- helping engineering teams choose the right tool for the job,
- help engineering teams overcome technical obstacles,
- constantly improving CI/CD best practices while listening to engineers about what they are struggling with and what can/should be improved,
- prepare and share presentations and/or documentations about our platform tool-kits/discoveries.
YOUR PROFILE:
- As a Senior Engineer you:
- Have 5+ years of experience in the engineering field (preferably focused on JVM languages, but other "modern" languages are also ok).
- Have great passion for technologies, old and new.
- Are proactive and are able to detect problems in advance.
- Are a creative thinker, not afraid to think out of the box.
- Are willing to learn new technologies.
- Should be optimistic, yet grounded, with a can-do attitude.
- Have experience with software engineering best practices (TDD, Contract testing, Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery, SOLID, ... bonus for Continuous Deployment).
- Have experience with distributed systems that are fault tolerant.
- Have experience with k8s.
- Strive to have repetitive tasks automated.
- Have a good team spirit.
- As a Senior Engineer, it would be nice that you:
- Have experience with Linux.
- Have experience with Go lang.
- Have experience with AWS cloud services (any of Kafka/MSK, DocumentDB, DynamoDB, Aurora, Elasticache, OpenSearch, Lambda, API GW, Cognito).
- Have experience with Terraform, Helm, Gitlab CI/CD and/or other similar automation/provisioning tools.
