What You'll Do

Samsung’s Advanced Neural Processor Lab (ANPL) is working on the next generation architecture for NPU, Neural Processor Unit, to be used in handsets, ADAS, and mobile devices’ next generation Samsung products. After building prototypes that demonstrate the promise of your research, you will work with product teams to help them integrate your ideas into products. 

Location: Fully Remote, with the opportunity to work from anywhere in the United States with the ability to travel domestic or internationally when required. #LIRemote 

  • To define micro-architecture of key hardware component of neural network acceleration hardware, prototype hardware designs.
  • Analyze the performance of various machine learning/ DL algorithms on existing/new architectures.
  • Identify bottlenecks and propose creative solutions to improve them.
  • Explore the commonality between deep neural networks and visual computing.
  • Do area and power optimization analysis.
  • Propose and specify useful hardware optimizations.
  • Research novel hardware techniques for future accelerators.

What You Bring

  • BS degree plus 5 years of experience, MS degree plus 3 years of exp, or PhD degree plus 0 years of exp
  • Strong Verilog, System Verilog, SystemC, C++ and Python coding skills, computer and processor architecture concepts, hardware design verification, and HLS synthesis.
  • Familiarity synthesis, simulation design tools, and power analysis tools.
  • Desirable – neural networks and machine learning concepts, FPGA development experience, knowledge of signal processing, linear algebra, close-to-hardware level programming experience.
  • You’re inclusive, adapting your style to the situation and diverse global norms of our people.

Within the base pay range, individual rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education and training. This is part of our comprehensive compensation package with annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits to help you live life well.
