Roles and Responsibilities:
Specific Job Duties: Evaluate semiconductor electronics materials and processes in order to analyze and make recommendations to help improve quality indices for each department’s business processes and programs. Perform semiconductor materials engineering duties in furtherance of process and materials improvements for the manufacturing process, including the following: materials/process monitoring, adjustments, and qualifications in a high-speed, high-throughput manufacturing environment; implement and support improvements, including thorough documentation perform change point management task set; disposition lots, identifying critical materials and yield failures that imply bigger problems, and take corrective actions; focus on producing defect free high quality ultra-thin films/wafers and tightly controlled thermal processes for Logic Devices using state-of-the-art single wafer and batch level tool types; configure new processes and materials production recipes; identify abnormal conditions by root cause and determine corrective actions to reduce variation; and provide input to disposition of nonconforming material. Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required
Minimum Requirements: PhD degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 24 months of experience in the Job offered or in a related occupation.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools
Requires 24 months of experience involving the following:
1. Analysis skills, including yield analysis, electrical device characterization, yield issue investigations;
2. Defect monitoring, characterization, and root cause analysis;
3. Reviewing equipment designs;
4. Optimization of equipment and process performance and targeting for product yield enhancement;
5. Developing continuous improvement procedures (CIPs);
6. Understanding interactions between process and yield, product performance and reliability;
7. Project management;
8. Yield prediction;
9. Design of experiments;
10. Tool/chamber commonality check for low yield analysis; and
11. Unit processes including Thin films deposition (CVD, ALD, PVD Metals and Dielectrics, Lithography, Etch, Diffusion, Wet process, Electroplating, and CMP).
