Milhouse is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our MEP team in Lombard!

Senior Engineers are expected to perform design and management for a variety of projects at different stages of design with little or no supervision by management. Senior Engineers are expected to lead the pursuit of projects and proposals, coordinate with our internal marketing group and act as a lead or support contact for prime and sub consultant work with minimal oversight. 

Typical design work includes power distribution, motor control centers, raceway systems, fire alarm systems, underground utility plans and profiles, interior and outdoor lighting systems, panelboard and apparatus schedules, and interfacing with utility companies, terminals, and a variety of commercial/private buildings. They shall also be familiar with the permitting processes for various municipalities/authorities and be able to stamp drawings within their discipline. Responsibilities shall also include creation of standards, design reviews, oversee and manage subordinate staff.

What you will do:

  • Provide quality designs with minimal oversight
  • Perform cross discipline coordination and QA/QC
  • Design to client and regulatory requirements
  • Manage mid to large size projects and programs
  • Keep Milhouse Engineering management advised of all quality, schedule and budget status in a timely manner
  • Manage subordinate and/or peer discipline resources to quality, schedule and budget requirements
  • Shop drawing review and disposition
  • Prepare project documents and reports
  • Maintain project files utilizing software such as ProjectWise
  • Create and enforce project quality plan
  • Assist with business development and proposal creation
  • Familiarity with IECC 2018 and ASHRAE 90.1 2016
  • Assist management as directed

What we are looking for:

  • Professional registration (preferred)
  • 10 years of verifiable, relevant experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel
  • Familiar with Revit and AutoCad
  • P.E. license (preferred)
  • Virtual Design and Construction experience
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
  • Knowledge of CPM schedule analysis
  • Familiar with discipline specific design software and design management systems
