We are seeking world class Procurement and Sourcing professionals to join our Global Procurement team at Coupang.
In this role, the successful candidate is expected to demonstrate and execute strategic sourcing, build a short-term and long-term category strategy, cost analysis, develop and enhance evaluation matrix and scorecards, and vendor management.
The candidate has to follow Coupang's sourcing process which consists of several steps such as building a category strategy, identifying specific sourcing opportunities, executing a competitive bidding process, leading contract negotiations, issuing purchase orders, and post-implementation supplier management. In addition to that the candidate should be able to do the analysis and preparation of global market research, industry trends, innovations, product best practices, price/cost analysis, building cost models, TCO, and benchmarking.
The successful candidate closely works with relevant stakeholders from multiple departments such as Operations, Maintenance, Hubs, Camps, Construction, Design, Safety, and IT to build and maintain a good supplier relationship to deliver and maintain world-class automation facilities for our company.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing automation procurement strategies, executing strategic sourcing projects, leading cross-functional alignment to execute the category contracts, and developing and maintaining a reliable supplier base.
- Leading sourcing of automated material handling and storage system and/or equipment for our fulfilment centers and camps. Typical equipment includes Conveyor, Sorter, Storage Shuttle Systems, AS/RS, Unit picking, Unit sortation, Bots/Robots, AGV/AMR, and other Automation equipment and Storage equipment such as Mezzanine, Rack, MTS, etc.
- Achieves targeted value creation such as cost reduction/avoidance results through demonstrating leadership skills in strategic sourcing, negotiation, supplier integration, continuous improvement, and innovation/technology.
- Identify and drive procurement value projects, deliver total cost of ownership (TCO) value creation, cost improvement, operational efficiency, and better maintenance costs.
- Directs and/or oversees the development/establishment and coordination of RFX Package in the assigned spend categories.
- Communicates and works effectively with management at all levels within the company and supply base
- Introduce a process improvement by identifying problems in existing processes, analyzing the root causes and occurrences, and identifying and introducing
- Establish a purchasing strategy to reduce the overall cost of purchasing for the automation category on a TCO basis and introduce an optimal purchasing solution by comprehensively considering the quality, delivery time, and cost.
- Co-ordinate with the multi-discipline team and lead commercial negotiations to consider the impact on Cost/Quality/Delivery/Support and highly favorable contracts terms for our company

Qualifications:
- 15+ years of work experience in Sourcing & Supply Chain, Procurement, and Project Management, preferably within Logistics Parcel/Package Storage and Sortation, e- Commerce, Express Parcel industries and with a focus on Automation: Sorter, Conveyor, AS/RS, Robot, AGV, Other Automation Equipment / Storage: Mezzanine, Rack, MTS, )
- Degree from a top-tier university with a major in supply chain/engineering/business management; MBA preferred.
- Ability to quickly identify key stakeholders, establish and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional partners.
- Ability to establish a strategic sourcing plan considering the internal and external environment, such as market conditions, supplier conditions, etc.
- Negotiate vendor contracts with best-in-class terms and conditions that reflect specific business needs and SLAs.
- Manage the pipeline of multiple sourcing projects and report on costs savings.
- Solid team player; can work cooperatively and effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to roll up one’s sleeves and lead by example whether digging into the data or leading a negotiation.
- Comfortable operating in a growth oriented environment maintaining a high sense of urgency and performance management.
- Significant executive presence and ability to represent one’s organization effectively with executives internally and in the supply base.
- Strong consultative/analytical / problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal / communication/negotiation skills.
- Multiple-category experience is a plus.
- International experience and Best-Cost Country (BCC) sourcing are a plus.
- Experience with eProcurement implementations and procurement transformations is a plus.
