What you will do:

• Work backwards from the needs of the customers and suppliers to create the vision for the in-stock and inventory planning function and build a responsive and forward-looking organization to support this vision.
• Bring Retail Supply Chain/InStock domain to deal with logics and science of building the forecasting and ordering models that enables day to day decision making
• Work cross functionally across multiple teams like Retail, Finance, downstream Fulfilment supply chain to build best in class infrastructure and processes for delivering consistent availability of ever-growing selection at Coupang
• Own the InStock and Operating Efficiency by ensuring that customer desired items are always in-stock within budgeted levels there by driving growth with efficiency.
• Build and operate strong collaborative processes and tools for supplier to exchange Data and advanced plans enabling Supplier meet Coupang’s OTIF and other commercial goals.
• Build and Institutionalize measurement/analysis framework that helps drive process correction and accountability by laying down the causals and impact.
• Design and manage feedback loops from Operations, Business and Suppliers to key technology teams.
• Establish procedures to translate expected business outcomes into system settings.
• Guide the development of processes and controls to monitor behavior of Forecasting, Inbound, and Inventory Management systems and continuously improve existing capabilities.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain-related fields from a Tier 1 Institute (Operations Research, Engineering, Business). Master’s degree preferred.
• 15+ years of relevant work experience in the areas of Demand Forecasting, Ordering, Procurement, Inventory Management and Supply Chain.
• Highly data driven with good process/product sense for the back-end problems. You should be comfortable analyzing/interpreting large data sets coming out of multiple source systems around Retail, Finance and Downstream Supply Chain
• Demonstrated ability to build, execute, measure and scale in-stock/supply chain organizations. You should have demonstrated ability in building and executing at 0 to 1 stage at small set-ups within big organization or within Start-Ups growing that has seen hypergrowth stage with lot of build while grow challenges.
• Superior oral and written communication skills with an innate attention to detail, and ability to influence without authority. You should be comfortable breaking down problems into parts and synthesizing the details into a correct powerful story.
• Ability to hire and develop a high performing team. You would become an example of leading from the front following/practicing and preaching the Coupang Leadership Principles for your team
• Experience collaborating with Sales, Technology and Operations stakeholders; in e-Commerce and Retail industry preferred.
