Job Overview

 

The Head of Security Operations is ultimately responsible for providing oversight and day to day leadership for all security and IAM-related operational monitoring, incident response & management, SOC, threat intelligence and proactive cybersecurity operations. They will define and deliver a pragmatic strategy that delivers the highest levels of industrially robust security operations to Coupang, for both current and future state. They will pro-actively and effectively manage the third party managed service providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd level support, deliver a world class threat intelligence organization and ensure the introduction of and adherence to best in class incident management processes, policies and procedures and respond to any operational incidents in a timely manner.

 

Major Responsibilities & Objectives

 

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following: 

  • Provide inspirational leadership to the Security Monitoring, Intelligence and Incident Management organization
  • Responsible for the ongoing 24X7 operation of the function, ensuring the highest levels of service and responsiveness
  • Implement a robust front-line security organization with appropriate
  • policies, technology, processes and governance that ensures the greatest level of security while supporting overall business objectives
  • Take the technical lead for security operations, building out and leading world class technical security operations capability
  • Proactively manage the third party managed service for 1st, 2nd and 3rd level support
  • Create a win-win relationship with robust policies, procedures, governance and process in place to ensure Coupang receives the best possible service
  • Define and deliver a pragmatic strategy for the function focused on the current and future state of the organization, ensuring scalability
  • Define and deliver a world class set of processes, policies and procedures to manage all security incidents quickly, efficiently and effectively
  • Bring a greater level of innovation and strategic thinking to Security
  • Monitoring, Intelligence and Incident Management with a focus on the practical application of leading edge technologies
  • Manage senior level business relationships with regard to security technology, engineering and operations
  • Define the organization structure for the function and build a world class team beneath you
  • Leverage direct, matrixed and external resources to deliver successfully

 

Background & Experience

 

  • Experience having led a Security Monitoring, Intelligence and Incident Management function within an organization of comparable scale and complexity
  • A deep level of technical understanding and experience in the security space
  • Experience leveraging a third party managed service in the context of a security operations function
  • Has defined and delivered a world class security monitoring, threat intelligence and incident management strategy
  • Proven track record of innovation in the security space
  • Ability to build and lead a world class team in the security space
  • International experience, ideally across Asia Pacific including Korea
  • Bachelor/Masters/PhDs in Computer Science or Engineering, Engineering Management and/or Information Systems or a related field
