What's it all about?
The Enterprise FX and Cross Border Solutions team is charged with leading the design, build, and commercialization of best-in-class flexible enterprise-wide FX, settlement, virtual accounts, and currency management solutions as we seek to meet the growing and increasingly diversified needs of clients moving funds around the world. In addition, this team is responsible for building and delivering a broad suite of flexible, transparent, and competitive FX solutions via the FX Marketplace and is responsible for FX trading, operations, and commercialization across the enterprise.
The Role
The Senior Director, Enterprise FX Product Strategy and Business Planning is a highly experienced professional who will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to drive business growth and enhance organizational success across our suite of FX and multicurrency management solutions, and in the broader context of Visa’s growth expectations in cross- border. The position is responsible for evolving the functional strategy to address new strategic issues and opportunities and for building strong commercial capabilities that will significantly grow the FX & Cross Border Solutions business. This leader will be responsible for building, implementing, and managing all Enterprise FX & Cross Border Solutions business operations (e.g.: QBRs, Portfolio Planning, OKRs). This individual will also work closely with senior product leaders to assess industry trends, market entry, product enhancements, M&A opportunities, and commercialization strategies.
This is a critical position reporting to the Global General Manager, Enterprise FX & Cross Border Solutions. This role requires strong client-management, structured problem solving, project management, and communication. This individual will be expected to lead large cross-functional engagements, handle multiple projects at the same time, and present to senior audiences.
They are adept at fostering collaboration across diverse cultures and geographies, demonstrating their acumen in global operations. Their role is instrumental in accelerating business growth specifically associated with increasing FX attachment across Visa’s cross border flows, driving cross border revenue streams, and enhancing Visa’s cross-border value proposition and customer satisfaction on a global scale.
Key Responsibilities
Articulate medium/long term strategic value of our FX and Cross Border solutions and identify areas of focus which significantly impact the trajectory of growth for Visa’s Cross Border business Lead the strategic planning and execution for our FX and cross border payment solutions. Identify new business opportunities and potential partnerships to expand our payment solutions portfolio. Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand business requirements and ensure alignment with strategic plans. Monitor industry trends and competitor activities and adjust strategy as necessary to maintain a competitive edge. Develop and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement of goals. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on thorough analysis and projections.
What we expect of you, day to day.
FX & Cross Border Solutions Product Strategy
- Evolve and refine the Enterprise FX & Cross Border product strategy at a global and regional level as appropriate, through a cohesive, integrated data-led approach for the short/mid/long-term to drive sustained revenue growth and integrate the suite of FX, settlement and multicurrency solutions into Visa’s cross border value proposition across Consumer, Commercial, Money Movement, and VAS.
- Build strategic frameworks and content to influence, align with, and adapt functional/divisional strategies and drive product roadmap integration into the Global Product organization and identify partnership/acquisition opportunities, as needed.
- Help design strategies which change the trajectory of growth, evolve our client relationships, and break through constraints to generate tangible impact on Visa’s XB performance.
- Drive and coordinate multi-functional work streams including strategy development and specific topics pertaining to XB. In partnership with finance/product/data leads, setup performance monitoring for key strategic indicators, helping drive XB initiatives forward from concept to focused, resourced execution plans
- Support General Manager/Regional partners in developing clear and concise executive level communications (e.g. regional XB MBRs, ELT updates) on FX and cross border strategic topics. Communicate recommendations to mid-senior management, other executives, for regional staff in a clear, concise and impactful way.
- Leads on orchestration of functional business planning cycle linking Multi-year Strategic Outlook (MSO) to Annual Operating Plan (AOP) to Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR). This includes ensuring the Money Movement Solutions (MMS) strategy and Go-To-Market (GTM) plans are fully integrated.
- Partner with product and commercialization teams to develop a robust Partnerships strategy, creating a funnel into the Corporate Development and Ventures team, informed through a deep understanding of competitor intelligence on the Cross Border payments and FX/embedded currency solutions landscape
- Attends external speaking engagements where needed to outline Visa’s strategy, the latest trends in payments and promote our strategy and reputation.
Business Planning and Performance Insights
- Responsible for defining and implementing key functional governance e.g., functional leadership meetings, business performance reviews and other governance routines at a global level and in collaboration with regional and functional stakeholders across the business.
- Refine business performance targets (i.e., scorecard) and KPIs in collaboration with the broader product, operations, and commercialization functions
- Planning strategic investment and securing approvals, to set and achieve business targets.
- Lead and input on priority projects/activities. This includes executive reporting, driving MBR/QBR content, AMK/RMK content and employee engagement surveys.
- Promotes a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency in driving governance simplification, enabling high quality decision making and aligning to wider corporate governance e.g., QBR etc.
- Preparing for and managing internal audits, and risk registers (supported by Product and payment Risk team).
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
- 8+ years of business experience, with a solid track-record of operating in an in-house corporate strategy or multi-functional role
- Experience and in-depth knowledge of the payments business
- A proven track record of delivering high impact results working on projects in the areas of corporate strategy, growth initiatives and new market, segment, or business strategies
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
- Ability to coordinate cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a peer with functional and regional leaders within Visa.

- Global or multi-national business experience is preferred
