The Role
The Senior Director, Content at Wpromote has a passion for storytelling and is an expert in generating audience engagement that propels business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of digital marketing, B2B and B2C customer segments, and market priorities. This role is responsible for developing Wpromote’s content strategy for the agency’s internal owned, earned, and paid channels to establish our position as an industry leader, generate demand, and support revenue growth. You’ll set the strategy for and directly manage the content team, developing unique cross-channel assets aligned with industry trends and brand priorities to drive impact for the business. As a player-coach, you’ll oversee the team’s editorial work and create content in your own right. Success in this role requires best-in-class strategic content expertise, the ability to build highly effective, engaging content that generates demand and delivers outsized value, outstanding writing and communications skills, and a strong sense of accountability. The Senior Director, Content will report to the CMO based on the West Coast.

The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $140,000 - $185,000, based on consideration of a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above) and an annual performance bonus.
This role has an associated annual target bonus component which is paid out based on a number of factors which include Company performance, department performance, and individual performance. Bonuses are not guaranteed and you must be an active employee in good standing and not on a Performance Improvement Plan to be eligible for the annual bonus.
*This position may be performed remotely in most states within the US, with some exclusions

You Will Be
- Leading the development and implementation of a content strategy to bolster marketing objectives and fuel new business growth
- Utilizing market research to identify content opportunities and enhance content effectiveness to drive better engagement and lead generation
- Collaborating with internal teams such as Product Marketing, Brand, Comms, Design, Web, Sales, Demand Generation, and Client Services to ensure content synchronicity with strategic business initiatives
- Managing, mentoring, and providing direction to a team of content creators to foster a collaborative and empowering environment that fuels high-quality content production
- Managing the entire content lifecycle, from concept to distribution, including editorial planning, creation and editing, publishing, and monitoring content performance
- Creating and maintaining a diverse content portfolio across multiple formats and channels, including videos, whitepapers, case studies, blogs, webinars, short and long-form content, and social media to drive brand awareness and demand for our services.
- Working closely with the agency marketing team to integrate SEO and social best practices into content creation for optimal organic reach and online presence
- Establishing content KPIs, provide regular performance analyses to stakeholders, and refine content strategies based on data-driven insights
- Collaborating closely with the Demand Generation team to develop a content strategy that supports the entire customer lifecycle, from awareness to retention
- Aligning content with key agency narratives to support full-funnel marketing programs and ensure alignment with demand-generation goals
- Keeping pace with content marketing trends to continuously advance our content strategy
You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field; Master’s degree is preferred
- 7-10 years of experience leading content strategy for B2B companies; media/digital marketing experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a capacity to encourage teamwork and handle projects within demanding timelines
- High-level communication experience with a solid background in content strategy and storytelling
- Proven leadership in guiding a content team to achieve outstanding outcomes
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to articulate complex strategies to various stakeholders
- Previous experience building content strategy, including familiarity with the latest digital trends and content distribution channels
- Analytical skills, including the ability to conduct comprehensive research and turn insights into effective content
- Proven use of AI tools to augment process, content development, and execution
