As a Senior Digital Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of high-quality design and digital projects that exceed client expectations. You’ll be at the center of client communications, project planning, and team collaboration to ensure timelines, budgets, and quality goals are met. Your role is critical in fostering trust with clients, supporting the creative team, and driving profitable project outcomes. You will report to the Head of Digital.

Senior PMs at SketchDeck are responsible for a client's complete experience working with SketchDeck. Your goals are:

  1. Deliver high-quality projects that exceed client expectations and meet profitability goals. 
  2. Nurture, retain, and grow your client relationships, including regular account check-ins to identify project opportunities
  3. Build & manage a motivated team that can meet client expectations with regard to design and product types. Ensure ability to scale and keep up with growth as needed.
  4. As a senior team member, mentor, collaborate and improve things around you.
  5. Manage complex projects and programs, including recurring membership accounts ($5K–$50K/month with individual projects averaging ~$2K), premium creative and digital campaigns ($25K–$100K+), and ad hoc initiatives, overseeing $1M+ in account and project revenue annually.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality design and digital projects that meet and exceed client expectations:
    • Discuss upcoming projects with clients: define budgets/timelines, discuss creative expectations, and educate on processes and the SketchDeck platform to ensure smooth project delivery
    • Review incoming projects, ensure brief and scope are clear for project success and adherence to budgetary goals
    • Partner with Design Directors and team members to provide strategic input on creative scoping and direction, ensuring alignment with client objectives
    • Manage project allocation across the digital team to hit deadlines, budget, and quality standards
    • Manage projects through workflows (i.e. agile or waterfall) tailored to achieve the best results for clients and project teams
    • Direct and support designers and developers so they can deliver great digital experiences on brand and on budget
    • Review project outputs to ensure they meet client briefs, align with brand guidelines, and are free of quality control errors.
    • Proactively address project challenges through clear client communication and team guidance, escalating risks or concerns to leadership as needed to ensure effective resolution.
    • Monitor project utilization to ensure efficient, profitable delivery
    • Develop great working relationships with other departments as clients work with multiple SketchDeck teams

  • Nurture, retain, and grow your client relationships:
    • Build, nurture, and grow client relationships to drive satisfaction and long-term retention.
    • Conduct regular status updates and align on client goals through quarterly partner business reviews.
    • Lead ongoing client meetings (weekly/monthly) to manage project and retainer budgets and align on project needs.
    • Work to ensure membership clients retain and grow through membership renewals; proactively identify opportunities for client growth and flag/solve issues.
    • Develop strategies to help enterprise clients maximize the impact of digital and design efforts while maintaining visibility into their pipelines.

  • Build and lead a motivated team of contractors capable of delivering on client expectations across a range of projects and services, maintaining scalability to support agency growth.
    • Recruit and hire contractors as needed to keep up with growth
    • Manage Associate PM (as needed)
    • Manage 8+ designers/specialists/QC
    • Train designers on member / enterprise brands

  • As a senior team member, mentor, collaborate, and improve things around you:
    • Review and revise processes to ensure we are constantly improving and evolving
    • Mentor other PMs
    • Collaborate with sales and marketing to help them bring in the best clients with the right expectations
    • Find ways to improve SketchDeck and live our values.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of project management experience in a creative agency or related organization, preferably working on large digital campaigns and projects
  • Proven knowledge of digital project management (web design and builds, paid media campaign development, branding, content development, organic and paid social media, video, etc.)
  • Proven experience managing large-scale digital campaigns from concept through execution
  • Strong creative and design sense - you know what good looks like!
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and resourcefulness.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Proven experience managing projects through the full lifecycle, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools
  • Experience with Figma preferred
