Sr. Digital Designer – Contract

  • Please note:  We are not working with outside search firms for this role.  
  • This role is a contract position. 
  • US-based, only. The ideal candidate will be in the Eastern US time zone.
  • The timeframe for the assignment is ongoing and will scale pending new projects. Minimum duration is through August 2025. 

Job Description

The Sr. Digital Designer will establish and enhance front-end atomic design systems for websites and other interactive platforms, collaborating with the project team. In addition to being an expert in using Figma to its fullest extent, they will be detail oriented and a team player. They should understand web development, CMS, UX best practices, and ADA compatibility, and have experience with projects of various sizes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain front-end atomic design systems in Figma
  • Prototype in Figma
  • Create ADA-compliant, mobile-optimized experiences
  • Review in detail all work from the dev team to ensure it matches the designs from Figma
  • Keep track of team feedback in an organized manner to capture all design changes
  • Research competitive landscape and trends
  • Explore new opportunities for design evolution
  • Stay updated on UI and interaction design standards

 

Required Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of Figma to utilize its full functionality
  • Understand the intricacies of grid systems, flexible components and responsiveness, including strong familiarity with CSS grid and CSS flexbox
  • Proficiency in presenting creative work and providing design rationale
  • Experience and knowledge of ADA requirements
  • Flexibility to iterate on and negotiate feedback from collaborative partners in real time for exceptional customer experiences
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong initiative, work ethic and speed to meet critical project deadlines
  • Detail oriented and thorough
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and collaborative creative environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in B2C, B2B, and ecommerce industries
  • Familiarity with Miro and Jira
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies
  • Proficiency with web technologies (HTML/CSS, CMS)

Anticipated Tasks:

  • Review product requirements and user stories
  • Manage ongoing defect resolution in Jira
  • Create design solutions ensuring brand standards
