First Connect (FC) is a software platform designed for insurance agents to easily connect with today’s top Insurtech providers and other tech-forward insurance carriers.
The platform’s standout feature is a robust comparative rater that lets insurance agents input data just once to generate multiple insurance quotes for their clients. FC aims to continually expand its network of insurance providers by integrating more companies via APIs, making it easy to access a wide range of insurance products.

About the role:
You’ll be the first Sr. DevOps Engineer fully dedicated to managing the infrastructure behind First Connect. This modern infrastructure is entirely Kubernetes-based. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and developers, to address the needs of different teams.
This is a highly independent position requiring not just strong technical skills, but also excellent communication abilities, a knack for mentoring and knowledge-sharing, and the desire to eventually grow into a Lead DevOps Engineer role.

What will you do?
- You'll be responsible for building a world-class scalable and resilient infrastructure that runs the Hippo platform.
- You'll help make developers more productive by providing tools, metrics, CI/CD processes, and other self-service tools.
- You'll have the chance to work with various cloud providers, databases, and open-source tools like Terraform, Vault, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- You'll use Golang, Python, and scripting languages like bash daily to build and scale tools, APIs, and serverless functions.
- You'll have huge creative freedom and ability to put your mark on the project, and you will take ownership and responsibility for what you do.
- You’ll have a lot of chances to develop your skills as well as learn a lot about how tech business is done in the US (if you want to).
