Detroit Labs is looking for experienced Senior DevOps Engineers to join an exciting project with an existing client that drives game-changing automotive technology. This role will work on connected vehicle services for customers owning vehicles with connected capabilities across the USA and Canada. These systems consist of several backend, frontend, and middleware applications. The systems integrate with the connectivity units inside the vehicle, and enable features like the ability to remotely start the vehicle, view parking locations, Alexa voice commands, and many more. This is a full-time salaried hybrid role located in Auburn Hills, MI. You must be able to work in the office a minimum of 3 days a week.
Requirements
- 20+ years of software engineering and DevOps experience, including hands-on deployment and monitoring of applications in cloud environments
- 2+ years of hands-on AWS experience (network, security, deployment, automation, serverless technologies)
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and process development
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), Java, and containerization (Docker)
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Azure Resource Manager (ARM)
- Experience with configuration management tools like Chef, Puppet, or Ansible
- Experience setting up and managing monitoring tools such as Kibana, Dynatrace, and OpenSearch
- EKS/AKS cloud Kubernetes experience for container-based deployments
- Experience with shell scripting and other automation practices to streamline operations
- Familiarity with agile development processes and collaborating across multiple teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Preferred experience in automotive industry connectivity and working on large-scale, complex cloud environments

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code for automating cloud resource deployment across automotive IT systems
- Manage and monitor cloud infrastructures for connected vehicle services, ensuring secure, scalable, and consistent deployments
- Design, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud services, improving pipeline efficiency, and ensuring high-quality automated deployments
- Collaborate with development and operational teams to ensure integration with backend, frontend, and middleware systems, working in a cross-functional, collaborative environment
- Troubleshoot and resolve cloud and deployment issues in production environments, ensuring system stability, uptime, and addressing outages or performance degradation promptly
- Maintain and implement security and operational policies for mitigating risks in cloud-hosted environments, following best practices
- Create and update documentation for deployment processes, infrastructure changes, and configurations
- Continuously improve DevOps processes and practices, staying up-to-date with the latest tools and technologies in cloud infrastructure and DevOps
- Work a hybrid work schedule, coming into the Auburn hills office a minimum of three days per week
