The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for building, automating, and optimizing cloud infrastructure, focusing on scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
The Sr. DOE should have a deep understanding of cloud-native development, automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and cloud architecture best practices. The incumbent will work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, security, and operations, to ensure seamless code deployments, high availability, and performance in production environments. This role is ideal for a proactive go-getter who is eager to drive new technology adoption within the organization.

Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure).

Automation & CI/CD: Implement and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable and efficient deployment of microservices and containerized applications (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and manage infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform.

Monitoring & Optimization: Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Splunk, Grafana, ELK Stack) for proactive infrastructure performance optimization, incident detection, and root cause analysis.

Security: Implement security best practices (e.g., encryption, identity and access management, network security, vulnerability scanning) to protect cloud infrastructure and application workloads.

Automation Scripting: Create automation scripts for cloud operations and orchestration using Python or similar scripting languages.

Incident Response: Own and manage incident response and ensuring quick recovery times and data integrity.

Collaboration: Work closely with the infrastructure teams to automate and optimize infrastructure provisioning and scaling using IAC tools like Terraform.

Cloud Strategy: Drive the evaluation and adoption of new tools and technologies to keep the organization at the forefront of observability and monitoring practices.

Mentoring: Ability to lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers.

Required qualification, expertise, skills:

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.

Experience: min 6 years of DevOps engineering experience

Cloud Platforms: Extensive hands-on experience with at least one public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) and a solid understanding of their services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM).

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficient in IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) for automating cloud resource provisioning and management.

CI/CD Pipelines: Expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Flux, Jenkins, GitLab CI or AWS CodePipeline.

Containerization & Orchestration: Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration and workload management in cloud-native environments.

Automation & Scripting: Proficient in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages for operational tasks and automations.

Monitoring & Logging: Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, CloudWatch) to maintain infrastructure health and optimize performance.

Communication: Strong communication skills to interact with team members, vendors and leadership team.

Attitude: Proactive, go-getter attitude with a passion for new technology adoption.

Teamwork: Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Knowledge of requirement gathering and rollout monitoring and observability solutions. Partner with the business and development teams to identify requirements, define solutions, and implement the same.

Language: Strong proficiency in both German and English
