ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking to add a Senior DevOps Engineer as we grow our small, highly motivated DevOps team. Even as an early stage company, Regal.io already operates at significant scale, processing 10s of millions of data points each month and powering 10s of thousands of calls and messages to end-users monthly.

OUR STACK

  • Programming Languages: Python, Typescript, Bash
  • Infrastructure as Code Tooling: Terraform, CloudFormation
  • Datastores: DynamoDB, Aurora Postgres, Redis/Elasticache, OpenSearch, Kinesis
  • Message Queues: Kinesis, SQS, BullMQ
  • Compute: ECS Fargate, Lambda
  • CI/CD: Github Actions (Enterprise)

  • We use a diverse technology stack that spans both traditional container-based REST APIs and high throughput serverless processing. We are an AWS shop and have a strong culture of continuous delivery, IaC, and automation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to automate provisioning, configuration, and management of AWS resources.
  • Architect, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-based infrastructure solutions on AWS, including services like RDS Aurora, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, ECS Fargate, and more.
  • Work closely with development, QA, and product teams to provide guidance on best practices for DevOps, cloud architecture, and automation.
  • Develop test and deploy pipelines for containerized and serverless applications with a focus on making them as self-serve for developers as possible, primarily on Github and Github Actions.
  • Split DevOps on-call duty with other engineers on the team
  • Ensure cloud infrastructure is secure, compliant, and follows best practices for data security and privacy, including IAM, security groups, and VPC configurations.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Minimum 4 years experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or related roles.
  • Experience with AWS technologies, including serverless
  • Proven experience with Terraform and/or other Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Ansible).
  • Previous experience using configuration management platforms to build and manage infrastructure
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Shell, etc.
  • Previous experience working with Datadog or similar observability and monitoring
  • Previous experience with database technologies such as Postgres or DynamoDB
  • Previous experience with queuing and caching platforms such as Redis, Kinesis or Kafka
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Ability to digest and manage feedback from engineers to address pain points across the stack

POSITION LOCATION & OFFICES:
This position is available in New York City.

We have offices in NYC (HQ- NoMad) & Boston (Downtown/Financial). Hybrid roles are required in office T/W/TH and office optional M/F. Covid protocols and vaccination policy in place.
