Summary:
Our Data and Analytics team is seeking a full-time Data Engineer with specialization in Data Warehouse Architecture. This person will primarily focus on supporting data products by building elegant, scalable data warehouses, and evolving self-serve analytics solutions. Your efforts will be critical in driving data-driven decision-making and enhancing our overall data infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain a simple, effective, and scalable data warehouse infrastructure using Snowflake.
- Develop and optimize data models to support various business needs, ensuring data consistency and accuracy across the organization.
- Implement and manage ELT processes with dbt to ensure reliable data pipelines.
- Work closely with product development teams, data analysts and business stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Mentor and support analysts and peers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and tune transformations and queries for maximum performance.
- Proactively identify and resolve operational issues with evolutionary recommendations.
- Ensure testing and validation mechanisms are in place so that data transformations are verified, complete, documented, and meet SLAs.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of data engineering and warehousing experience
- Able to leverage abstraction to solve complex problems
- Excellent SQL, data modeling skills
- Experience with dbt and Snowflake (or other modern data warehousing solutions)
- Experience designing and building scalable data warehouses for access across the organization
- Experience implementing data validation and monitoring systems
- Excellent communication skills
- Prior experience with communicating with technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience managing projects and delivering results within set timelines
- Can work iteratively, defining requirements as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with dbt
- Extensive experience with Snowflake
- Experience with Python
- Experience data modeling clickstream data generated from website and app traffic
- Experience with real-time data processing and streaming platforms.
- Experience building data systems that adhere to data government principles
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for managing data infrastructure
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Understanding of machine learning and data science concepts
- Experience working in an agile environment
- Experience and preference to be a part of a team
- Strong product sense and commitment to data quality
Total Compensation:
The estimated salary range for a new hire in this position is $150,000 USD to $175,000 USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
