About the role  

A Data Warehouse Solution Designer is a vital part of the Data Delivery Team, who provide trustworthy and safe to use data assets for SEEK teams across APAC, so that they can make informed decisions and deliver customer experiences using data. 

The DWH Solution Designer is responsible for designing data assets, ensuring that they meet the needs of our customers and the business. 

You will be responsible for

  • ​​​​​Liaise with data users across the business to understand their data needs 
  • Design data models that encapsulate data domains across SEEK 
  • Identify, explore, analyse and document source data and systems 
  • Work with teams who provide data to specify what is to be collected and ensure quality is fit for purpose 
  • Specify ETL source to target mappings and transformations, with reconciliation & validation rules 
  • Work with Data Engineers to implement data assets, QA the results, and facilitate acceptance testing 
  • Forensic investigation and analysis of data quality, and facilitate resolution of issues with data engineers and providers 
  • Documentation, training and support for users 

Skills and experience 

  • Understanding needs of customers, capturing requirements, planning and designing solutions 
  • Good stakeholder management and effective communication 
  • Deep understanding of data warehousing, business intelligence, data management, data quality, and ETL 
  • Data/Dimensional modelling with an eye to usability and performance 
  • Expertise in SQL and data analysis, with working knowledge of different file types: structured (CSV), semi structured (JSON, XML), row store and column store. 
  • Experience working with APIs and data query engines to interrogate data.  
  • Experience with agile delivery as part of a small, cross-functional team 
  • Experience both with big data platforms and with relational database management systems.
