What it's all about 

As a Senior Data Product Manager in the Data Products team, you will be at the forefront of leading and delivering new and existing data driven products for our clients in Europe.  You will have key accountabilities within the team responsible for development, launch and scaling of products that help leverage one of the deepest, most exciting consumer payments datasets anywhere in the world to help grow our clients businesses.

The position’s responsibilities also include analyzing new data product and product expansion opportunities and assisting in building business cases for them as necessary, as well as providing subject matter expertise and training to sales partners and customers to help advance the sales and implementation process. 

The candidate must also excel at working with internal Visa resources as well as external partners and/or resources to provide sales support and training.  The position requires a proven record of accomplishment of data product management and commercialization, data analysis, business and financial acumen, and working cross-functionally to drive business results. 

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

You must be a self-starter, be curious and eager to innovate - driving activity that helps deliver the next generation of issuer, acquirer and merchant data solutions.  Primary responsibilities of the role will include:

 

  • Become the subject matter expert and assume end-to-end product management responsibilities for data products and propositions.
  • Lead the coordination of activity to deliver data product implementations within Europe, including well-structured collateral across the product lifecycle.
  • Understand and review market trends, client needs, competitive landscapes, and overarching privacy and regulatory environments
  • Commercial focus on priority outcomes, including related P&L targets
  • Support the development and application of the data product strategy and roadmap in Europe.
  • Be able to flex, collaborate and build credibility across global cross-functional teams, including suppliers, partners and stakeholders as required - across multiple disciplines including product, sales, data science, innovation, development, operations, finance, legal/regulation and marketing
  • Support EU clusters, country leads and account executives for opportunities and pilots and rollouts.
  • Assist business development teams on sales effort on a growing user base of in 36 countries.
  • Provide customer, technical and admin support as well as the communication & training for EU Data products
  • Provide sales support and training to members, co-brand partners, and non-member customers as needed.
  • Constantly interact with clients, to solve real-client problems in order to increase Visa’s data products acceptance and client satisfaction.
  • Work with Global Data Products team to timely implement new Data products and support the data products development process
  • Act as SME and spokesperson providing the voice of data products within Visa in Europe and externally in Visa client meetings, ensuring awareness and Visa leadership role in the data category.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial institutions, preferably with knowledge of commercialization of data products
• Strong data analysis and information skills. Working knowledge of business intelligence/reporting tools such as Micro Strategy and outstanding analytical skills. Must be able to analyze and interpret data and to critically evaluate information gathered from different sources.
• Hands-on skills in reporting and visualisation tools such as Tableau, Microstrategy and Excel are an advantage
• A broad knowledge and understanding of relevant technologies and analytics techniques such as SQL/Hadoop, coding, machine learning/AI, statistical/predictive models, data cleansing, large scale data analysis, etc., .
• Demonstrable prior product experience of successful product development and roll-out, and clear understanding of the impacts to stakeholders throughout the end to end lifecycle
• Commercial and Financial experience of managing assets such as investment funds and product P&L
• Proven ability to take initiative, solve business problems, and have focus on client success
• Must be a problem solver. Must have the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues, including unique, complex problems.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience
• Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently, as well as a part of a culturally diverse team
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to effectively interact and collaborate with users, team members, management and other resources in a cross-functional, demanding environment.
• Fluent in English. An additional European language is a plus.
