Requirements
Flowdesk is on a mission to become a leading global Crypto Financial Institution, operating as a key player in Market-Making and OTC services across four continents. As we scale, our goal is to build a comprehensive and scalable data architecture that supports our growth while ensuring transparency, trust, and auditability.
To achieve this, we need a Senior Data Ops who possesses deep expertise in crypto operations, transactions, and wallet management. This is a must-have for the role. We expect you to be highly knowledgeable about crypto architecture and transaction flows, including compliance alerts, wallet management (vaults, wallets, addresses), and crypto exchanges. You will need to seamlessly integrate transaction data across platforms like Fireblock, exchanges, and cold wallets (ledgers) while maintaining a transparent and reconciled view of Assets Under Management, Transaction Volume, and PnL per client.
This role is not about being an engineering expert but about being a visionary leader who can autonomously design and build an Operations Cockpit that provides real-time, actionable insights into our business. The Operations Cockpit will centralize all client-related information, including compliance alerts, asset movements, transaction details, and financial performance, enabling Flowdesk to monitor all relevant data points for both internal and external use. The Senior Data Ops will need to collaborate with our strong existing Data Team, challenging their technical solutions and leveraging their expertise to bring this vision to life.
Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Architecture
- Build the Flowdesk Operation Cockpit, a real-time platform for monitoring client data, including compliance alerts, wallet management (Fireblocks, exchanges, cold wallets), transaction flows, and PnL. Ensure seamless reconciliation of Assets Under Management, Transaction Volume, and PnL per client.
- Design and build a global data architecture with a focus on crypto and fiat operations and transactions, integrating key data points from wallets, vaults, exchanges, and compliance systems.
- Leverage your strong crypto knowledge to ensure that the architecture supports end-to-end visibility across all relevant business areas, ensuring Flowdesk can deliver both transparency and auditability.
Operational & Regulatory Transparency
- Ensure Flowdesk’s data architecture and operations cockpit provide real-time monitoring and regulatory transparency across all crypto and fiat operations, wallets, transactions, and client interactions.
- Build automated systems to capture and reconcile transaction data, including crypto inflows/outflows, asset transfers, and compliance alerts attached to each client’s activities.
- Implement best practices in crypto and fiat transaction management to provide full traceability and regulatory compliance across all our business lines.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Lead the development of Flowdesk’s Operations Cockpit, working cross-functionally with Finance, Compliance, Legal, and Trading Ops teams to integrate their data needs into a single, auditable platform.
- Collaborate with and challenge the Data Team, ensuring their technical solutions align with the unique requirements of crypto and fiat operations while keeping an eye on the long-term scalability and auditability of the system.
- Drive complex data projects autonomously from concept to delivery, using your crypto expertise to ensure Flowdesk’s operations cockpit offers complete and accurate data visibility.
Background and skills
- Deep knowledge of crypto transaction flows, wallet management (including vaults, wallets, addresses, and integrations like Fireblocks, exchanges, and cold wallets).
- Experience reconciling Assets Under Management, Transaction Volumes, and PnL per client in the context of crypto operations.
- Proven ability to navigate complex crypto operational environments, ensuring accurate and compliant data management across platforms.
- Proficient in DBT and Python with hands-on experience in data modeling and analytics.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Grafana, Looker, Tableau, and gsheet tools.
- Experience working with crypto exchanges, trading platforms, and regulatory compliance frameworks: Haruko, Cryptio, Fireblocks etc…
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the financial sector, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in crypto exchanges, market-making, hedge funds, or financial technology firms.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale data projects, from inception to delivery, with a focus on auditability, transparency, and compliance.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Exceptional project management abilities, with a focus on delivering results in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- A proactive, organized, and rigorous approach to work, with a commitment to Flowdesk’s mission of building a sustainable and transparent business model.
