As the Senior Governance Consultant, you will play an integral role in leading tailored solutions to guide organisations toward sustainable growth, compliance, and innovation. Your expertise will navigate clients through data governance intricacies, unlocking insights and driving informed decisions.
A Day in the Life of a Senior Data Governance Consultant:
- Required to work closely with the client's Governance team on the prioritised subdomains, forging strong relationships with Data Owners, Data Stewards, and SMEs across the business.
- Create a Data Owners onboarding pack detailing the role and process to set up data governance in their area.
- Host a kick-off meeting with each Data Owner to explain the goals of the program, their role and the next steps.
- Attend multiple workshops with the Data Owner to identify and prioritise their critical data assets (based on definitions of critical data).
- Create a tracking system to monitor Data Governance progress across agreed critical data sets.
- Set up ways of working with Data Owners to include regular forum/touch points with Data Stewards and a process for escalating and tracking issues.
- Support the formation of a Data Governance team in the domain including team structure, role description, technical interview pack, candidate review and onboarding new team.
- Attend a workshop with process teams and Data Users to identify Data Stewards and Data Custodians for call critical data sets.
- Onboard each Steward to ensure they understand and accept responsibilities and are aware of available support.
- Train and support the Stewards to facilitate Data Cataloguing & Business Glossary.
Requirements
Expertise in embedding data Governance programs within medium to large organisations, preferably engineering and manufacturing businesses along the lines of the following:
- Experience in leading engagement with businesses to drive the use of data governance and management solutions to derive value and improvements.
- Proficient in data management best practices and guiding business SMEs as well as data engineering and cloud engineering teams on the direction to follow.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills, including being able to communicate difficult, technical concepts to a business audience.
- Experience leading the definition and rollout of effective, auditable data governance and management controls for business adoption as well as for Data Engineering and Cloud implementations at scale.
- Experience using data management technologies such as metadata management, data catalogue and data lineage, data profiling and quality management, data error prevention and notification, data retention and tokenization etc.
- Required to be in the Aiimi office one day per week and on-site with the client when requested.
