Sword Health is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to enable AI/ML projects to power the Sword health platform from end-to-end. You will build the data infrastructure to prepare machine learning and data science to understand member behavior across a multitude of health and pain conditions. You will be part of an exciting team at Sword that is helping our business grow to the next level through novel applications of AI. You will have a tremendous impact on millions of lives. What you'll be doing:
- Design, build and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines that ingest data from multiple sources with different technologies (Cloud Storage, BigQuery, FHIR, JSON, etc.);
- Work closely on data science projects to design, prototype and test novel clinical and digital interventions and models, leveraging machine learning and deep learning to understand members and their musculoskeletal health and pain needs;
- Represent the needs of the AI team in architecting data solutions that maintain a person-level identity across multiple data types and sources;
- Leverage advanced programming and large datasets towards those ends, including structure and unstructured clinical notes, focused on developing domain expertise in digital health and musculoskeletal care;
- Work and collaborate with internal stakeholders (analytics, marketing, clinical operations, growth) to develop strategies and data science products to solve real world problems;
- Have the opportunity to work with some of the most exciting and newest technologies in the data field.
What you need to have:
- Very high level of SQL and data modeling expertise;
- Strong experience with Python;
- Experience with supporting data science and AI teams data needs;
- Experience in cloud-based architectures, such as GCP and AWS;
- Experience with orchestration frameworks, such as Apache Airflow;
- Experience proposing technical or procedural improvements to new and existing data flows.

- Exposure to healthcare data including claims;
- Exposure to creating production ready ML models;
- Knowledge of Data Governance;
- Capable of zooming out and being able to propose changes to data architecture.
