Senior Data Engineer

About the Role

The Senior Data Engineer is a core member of the SEEK Analytics engineering team responsible for contributing to and developing our databases and data pipelines to enable SEEK to deliver customer-facing business intelligence reporting. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to improve our current product offering and help devise and set the future technical direction in close collaboration with the Technical Lead, Product Manager and User Experience Designer.

Key Responsibilities

• Aligning systems to SEEKs technology strategy.
• Building systems fit for purpose and following SEEK development practices.
• Contribute to platform health, ensuring that our systems are secure, reliable, resilient and efficient.
• Focus on delivering outcomes for our customers.
• Share operational support duties.
• Exemplify quality and engineering subject area to uplift team capability.
• Supporting end customers of our data assets (finding & understanding data, turning queries, resolving data quality issues).
• Low-level performance analysis and optimisation of databases, SQL queries, ETL processes, physical schemas, underlying systems and resource utilisation.

The Team

The SEEK Analytics team is responsible for producing customer-facing data visualisations and reports for our Hirers and internal teams. Our key focus is on delivering technical excellence and developing secure and scalable cloud-native solutions with clean, testable code while following the latest best practices.
