That’s where you come in! We’re looking for a Sr Data Engineer. We are strong proponents of data-driven decision making and are investing in processes and platform improvements to expose and make ready the metrics captured and generated in our systems. Your work will take you across different codebases adding instrumentation and pushing data into pipelines, to flow into the data warehouse where transformations will shape the data for analysis and visualizations.
What you'll do
- Work with team members across all engineering departments, to add instrumentation to existing and new codebases
- Create data pipelines using in-house and GCP tools, to asynchronously move large amounts of data in a maintainable and monitorable fashion
- Transform data in ELT processes, by using DBT to leverage the functionality of the database
- Perform data analysis and create visualizations and dashboards for parties across the company
- Assist in the management of resources and services like the data warehouse, dash boarding tools, and legacy ETL services
What you'll bring
- 2+ years of experience with application development in Python, Typescript or Javascript
- 5+ years of experience in a Software Engineering or Data Engineering role
- A strong understanding of analytical SQL and the knowledge of how to best use it with OLAP and OLTP data stores
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field or relevant experience
- Experience with cloud computing (AWS, GCP or Azure) and familiarity with cloud data warehouse platforms (Bigquery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.)
- A solid understanding of data driven services in asynchronous environments
- A history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large datasets
- A curiosity for exploratory data analysis and continuous learning
- The ability to work with people across the company
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Data Build Tools (DBT) as a transformational tool
- An understanding of Terraform for the allocation and management of cloud services
