We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our growing technology team. You will apply your passion for large complex data systems to design, build, and maintain our data infrastructure and production environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain our data infrastructure and pipelines to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient processing of large volumes of data in production environments
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to track the performance, health, and reliability of our data infrastructure and pipelines, and proactively identify and address issues or anomalies
  • Optimize and tune our data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability, leveraging technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, and Hadoop to handle big data workloads
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data validation, cleansing, and transformation processes, and maintaining documentation and lineage tracking for all data flows
  • Optimize and tune our data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability, ensuring that our data infrastructure can handle large volumes of data and meet SLAs
  • Stay current with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in data engineering and contribute to guide the evolution of our data technology stack 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on building and maintaining very large data infrastructure and pipelines in production environments
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with data engineering tools and frameworks
  • Proficiency and knowledge of different modern databases like Postgres and DynamoDB
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and familiarity with data storage and processing services such as S3, BigQuery, or Redshift
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of what's possible
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Contributions to open-source projects, participation in tech communities, or attendance at conferences/meetups

Base salary for this role ranges from $135,000-$198,000 in local currency depending upon experience

This is a remote position, the employee must be located within commuting distance of Redwood City.
