The role
As a Senior Data Engineer within the Global AI department, your work will be pivotal in enabling our team to derive insights and build ML models from complex datasets. The Global AI team works cross-functionally to identify opportunities to build and deploy advanced ML solutions throughout the organization and works closely with Data Scientists, ML engineers, and Data Engineers to build and maintain best-in-class data products to improve HelloFresh’s user experience. The Global AI team is focused on designing scalable and automated data products
What you’ll do
- Actively contribute as a solution-oriented member within autonomous, cross-functional agile teams, collaborating with product owners, data engineers, machine learning engineers, data scientists, and business intelligence teams.
- Take ownership of the end-to-end process including design, development, and monitoring of data pipelines for data ingestion, feature engineering, and reporting to support ML model training and inference.
- Work with state-of-the-art technologies like PySpark, Tecton, Prefect, Kubernetes, and more.
- Demonstrate an understanding of applied ML concepts and principles.
- Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in data management and engineering across the team.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of HelloFresh’s core product and architecture.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Engineering Degree desired.
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering with a proven track record of building large-scale data platforms.
- Strong programming skills in Python/PySpark.
- Expertise in SQL databases, data modeling, and ETL orchestration tools.
- Experience building and maintaining feature engineering pipelines for ML model training and inference (nice to have).
