Senior Data Engineer (Contract)

As a member of the team, you will work alongside our clients to help design and deliver solutions to meet business requirements and help improve the effectiveness of the clients' software delivery capability. You should have extensive experience delivering software on commercial projects backed up by extensive knowledge of agile practices such as TDD, pair programming, and continuous integration and delivery.

We are currently seeking a Senior Scala Developer with no less than 6 years of experience to join our team. As a Senior Scala Developer, you will play a key role in working closely with stakeholders and team members to design, develop, and deploy scalable solutions for our clients, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and best practices.

The ideal person will have the following skills: 

• Automated tests with good coverage
• Understands the difference between e2e, integration and unit testing
• Uses source control and CI/CD to release to lower environments
• Code is easy to read and understand
• Has awareness of IaC tooling (e.g Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) and practices 
• Has experience with data modeling techniques such as denormalization, partitioning, keys (e.g. primary keys), indexes
• Basic data quality checks on completeness, uniqueness, schema assertion  built into pipelines
• Writes clean SQL leveraging functions where appropriate
• Is experienced implementing data transformations e.g. aggregations, summarizations, enrichment
• Writes integration tests including SQL execution coverage
