The Role

The Worldwide Invention team at Mindshare drives creativity & innovation in and beyond media by excelling in culture, community, and innovation. Through a balance of deep expertise and creative thinking we guide our clients to think outside of the box, using channels and mechanics that drives growth beyond their existing realms of focus.

We aim to elevate creativity in media by designing media-agnostic ideas; develop thoroughly research and inspirational thought leadership; and be deep experts in areas of specialisms. These are primarily: cultural strategy, partnership, sponsorship; community strategy, influencers, creators, social content; innovation strategy, creative tech & emerging technologies. Our knowledge spans across various areas of culture, with specific focus on gaming, sport, film and entertainment.

 

We are looking for a mid-weight creative media strategist to join our 10+ people strong team, working across Nestle / Nespresso and all other Mindshare global clients. The candidate will work with Cultural Strategist, Community Strategist, and other Creative Media Strategy specialists, and report into Business Director Invention. This role is based in London, with some travel (5-10%).

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Creative strategist with substantial experience, capable to develop channel-agnostic ideas
  • Preferred experience from a creative strategy team in media agency, digital creative agency, integrated creative agency, emerging tech shop, and/or non-traditional creative background
  • Need to be able to work independently and collaboratively with other creatives / specialists
  • Creative skillset spanning from ideation to conception and design of solutions to execution
  • A strong copywriting background
  • A good understanding of the media environment, and the role different channels can play

 

Essential Criteria

  • Have brilliant ideas across all types of creative work – from big campaign ideas to content program to tech-driven activation – and across media channels.
  • Have a passion and curiosity for innovation/technology and know how to build it into their work.
  • Can create, and confidently deliver, initial idea presentations for pitch or live project.
  • Can create and/or brief treatment, storyboard, initial design layout and/or can write original, short & long copy.
  • Have the knowledge and experience to oversee creative projects from idea to final execution.
  • Are confident communicating with clients, and developing client relationships
  • Are collaborative with internal teams, and with our partners, media or otherwise.
  • Expertise with developing / making (i.e. usage of graphic design software) is a bonus
  • Foreign language is also a bonus

 

Responsibilities

  • Creative ideation & strategy
    • Generating media-agnostic creative ideas & strategies, and be responsible for those end to end, including design, copywriting and presenting to clients. These can apply to TV, Cinema, OOH, Radio/Audio, Video, Social, Content, Digital, Influencers, etc. and / or leverage emerging technology (AR/XR, AI, NFT, etc.)
    • Partner with client’s creative agencies to translate creative platform / high level concept into creative media / tech ideas
    • Creative strategy development anchored in media, working hand in hand with global media strategists
  • Creative consultancy for media and tech partner production:
    • Reviewing and rewriting (if necessary) creative briefs for media and technology partners
    • Leading / attending media partner briefings
    • Review and give feedback on creative proposals
    • Review final assets and approve before delivery

 

  • Creative direction throughout process (when relevant)
    • Create / review treatments, storyboards, initial design layouts, write campaign copy and scripts
    • Create / review user journeys, and identify related assets, CTAs etc.
    • Help identify production partners and direct them throughout project
    • Review final assets and approve before delivery
    • Ongoing communication with client throughout project

 

  • Overall development of Invention practice
    • Work with client lead and strategy teams to identify creative media opportunities
    • Work with wider agency to help bring creativity into everything we do 
    • Internal promotion of Invention team and work 
    • External promotion of Mindshare creativity - with clients, conferences, PR etc.
    • Working with Global Client teams to promote creativity
