We are looking for a hardworking Configuration Engineer to help us implement the CPE team’s roadmap, deliver an outstanding experience for our users and internal partners, while supporting the rapid growth and development Cruise.
Construct and mature the code-based strategy at Cruise, implementing processes to enable collaboration and change management.
Contribute to the implementation strategy for universal configuration management across a diverse fleet of endpoints
Develop and maintain cookbooks to codify our environment and enable Chef usage across IT
Identify opportunities for new tooling and integrations that will supplement the current configuration workflow using Infrastructure as code
Implement standard methodologies to help secure and scale our endpoint usage. Methodologies should prioritize an automated approach using tooling, scripting or other methods of automation.
Identify opportunities to enable self-service for users and support the operations team with day-to-day requests
Develop metrics for system health and performance and create systems that advance those metrics in service of business goals.
What you must have:
Experience in leveraging Code based configuration management for engineering endpoints
You are an expert scaling client platforms using Configuration Management tooling such as Chef, Puppet, Salt or Ansible.
You have experience enforcing enterprise cybersecurity compliance within hardware testing and engineer environments
Empathy for end users and a desire to provide a quality user experience
You are an expert using Git and CI/CD to improve the quality and release cadence of changes
A strong desire to automate everything
The ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, own and drive projects effectively in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail with a passion for thorough systems documentation.
Proven communication skill set with the ability to build partnerships across different departments within an organization.
