Enterprise Technology delivers a broad range of software and infrastructure services to a global network of creative agencies.  Enterprise Technology provides a global centralised IT and procurement function to provide economies of scale. 

The role objective is to recharge certain centralised costs and then liaise closely with WPP’s other regional brands to communicate shared costs with senior finance stakeholders around the world, ensuring costs are processed at every level, with P&L and Balance Sheet differences being communicated and closed out.  This role offers the opportunity to make an impact on financial health and controls.

 

What you'll be doing:

As a Senior Corporate Reporting Accountant you will be at the heart of our controllership operations, ensuring accuracy of financial performance and completeness of our financial position.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Intercompany mismatches: responsible for obtaining data from multiple sources and counterparties, ensuring all transactions are agreed and supported by evidence (balance sheet and / inter-group revenue/cost mismatches) - a primary area of focus.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and control: responsible for preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and sub-ledger analysis with a specific focus on intercompany payable and receivable balances, ensuring compliance with SOX controls.
  • Journal entries: prepare journal entries to resolve mismatches and support with the balance sheet remediation process
  • Monthly closing: take ownership for a number of countries and responsible for the balance sheet and accounting entries in those countries.
  • Analysis: responsible for providing commentary on the financial performance variances against proforma and rolling forecast and balance sheet movements
  • VAT Reporting: prepare and submit quarterly VAT Returns in compliance with regulations.
  • Ad hoc duties: including checking payment runs, tax queries, assisting with monthly payroll process, statutory accounts and supporting the annual audit.

What you'll need:

  • Audit experience: internal audit or has worked within a FTSE-100 or large international organization, strong controls focus and attention to detail
  • ACA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Excel
  • Experience in the preparing / management of journal entries and accrual accounting.
