Senior Corporate Counsel

The Legal team at GoGlobal is expanding, and we are in search of a highly skilled and motivated Senior Corporate Counsel to join our international team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced commercial lawyer with in-depth knowledge US and Canadian laws. In this role you will act as an internal expert on legal matters in the US and Canada and as a member of the global Legal team you will be responsible for drafting and negotiating various commercial agreements, providing legal advice and support to internal departments. This role requires a commercial mindset, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, international environment. This fully remote position offers the opportunity for professional growth as a legal professional and exposure to international experiences.

Roles & Responsibilites

  • Provide timely and accurate legal advice to internal stakeholders with focus on employment matters in the US and Canada.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate MSAs, SAAS, employment and other commercial agreements.
  • Handle various legal disputes, including employment related.
  • Manage legal risks effectively and stay updated on new changes in relevant laws to ensure GoGlobal's ongoing legal compliance.
  • Develop, review, and maintain internal policies and processes to enhance the company's legal compliance framework.
  • Conduct legal training sessions for internal stakeholders.
  • Perform other legal duties and responsibilities as assigned by your manager.

Requirements

  • US or Canada qualified lawyer.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a legal counsel.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws of US and Canada and experience in advising on employment matters.
  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating employment and commercial agreements.
  • Proven track record in providing commercial legal advice to internal business stakeholders.
  • Experience managing an international legal team and working with international exposure will be considered a strong advantage.
  • Exposure to areas such as HR, payroll or business outsourcing services is advantageous.
  • Commercially focused and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent legal drafting, project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency with Office (Word, Excel), Office 365, SharePoint.
