The Senior Corporate Accountant is a highly skilled professional responsible for managing all financial aspects of assigned corporate entities, with a strong focus on statutory compliance, taxation, and the preparation of statutory accounts. This role ensures the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in line with local and international standards while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. The Senior Corporate Accountant also coordinates statutory audits and liaises with auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure full legal and financial compliance, contributing to the overall stability and integrity of the entities.
Duties and Accountabilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of financial data to internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and other applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, including tax laws
- Coordinate with auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations for internal and external audits
- Assist with preparing tax returns and regulatory filings, ensuring full compliance with current laws and regulations.
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard the financial integrity of the entities
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring regulatory and financial stability
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed
- Provide financial analysis and support for decision-making
- Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CGMA or equivalent and/or bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a related field
- Possess strong expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (MS Excel is mandatory)
- Proficient in business-level English communication
- Should have a minimum of 10 years of post-qualification working experience, and should be within an international environment
