The UX team are the DNA that exists to connect our customers, business and brand. We play a pivotal role in helping and supporting our customers on our Zero Carbon journey by crafting experiences that power the movement today and lead the path to the future. 

This role in a nutshell:

We are seeking a Senior Content Designer to join our UX team. As a Senior Content Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the voice and structure of our products  responsible for designing customer experiences that empower customers to take control of their home energy and reduce their carbon footprint.

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Ideate, and craft content solutions that drive our customer and business goals forward.
  • Develop concise, clear, and engaging UX copy that guides users seamlessly through our products, ensuring a consistent tone of voice across all touchpoints.
  • Consider the whole system, using information architecture principles and techniques to structure and organise content for maximum clarity and usability.
  • Define and own the content strategy ensuring alignment with overall product and company objectives across OVO's app and web experiences.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to refine the user experience and improve key product metrics through impactful content.
  • Actively contribute to our content and UX community by participating in critiques, sharing your expertise, and advocating for best practices in content design.
  • Facilitate workshops and design sprints.
  • Collaborate with Product Designers, Product Managers, UX Researchers and Engineers
  • Partner with content producers to ensure that all content is executed to the highest standards and built to spec.
  • Use a variety of tools for sketching, collaborating, prototyping, and communicating design. We love Figma and Miro!
  • Take an agile and lean approach to software development, shipping fast and often.

  • A product thinker - you care about why you’re designing something and what impact it will have for the user.
  • Customer-obsessed, using data and research to inform and validate design decisions.
  • Obsessed about the details, whilst having a birds eye view of how everything connects.
  • A brilliant communicator - you can explain and rationalise the reasons for your design decisions and can give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Experienced in designing for mobile with a strong portfolio of projects showing your ux writing and information architecture skills.

You won’t like this role if you…

  • Are uncomfortable with ambiguity, change, and managing conflicting priorities.
  • Don't relish engaging in the entire end-to-end UX practice.
  • Prefer working in isolation rather than collaborating with cross-functional teams.

We’ll pay you between £65,000 - £70,000 depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!
