About the role:
In this role you’ll become a valuable member of our team of energy market consultants in our recent newly established Dutch office. You’ll get a chance to shape the Dutch office after 1 month of onboarding and induction in our Oxford office in the UK, who have supported the Dutch market remotely through a team of 4 Consultants who will continue to work in this hybrid team. You’ll be relocating after 1 month to be permanently based in our office in central Rotterdam. AFRY will support you in the process of getting a temporary accommodation for your stay in Oxford.
Your responsibilities:
Although the Dutch energy market will be the main area of work, the successful candidate will be expected initially to work on a broader range of assignments as required by the business that might include other countries.
Possible examples of projects include developing a renewables market entry for investors or assisting in an M&A transaction of an asset in the energy sector. You will have the opportunity to substantially influence major decisions in the energy sector.
In your daily tasks as a Senior Consultant or Manager, you will:
- Undertake complex analytical projects and solve problems with high level competency, accuracy and organizational competencies
- Work effectively with diverse teams as well as lead teams to come up with the best solution and encourage people and organizations to act.
- Actively interface with clients and ensure that you and your project team understand the client needs and deliver according to deadline(s), quality standards and client expectations
- Contribute ideas and develop business development and project delivery
- Communicate complex messages and structure your presentations and communication material in a way that maximises the impact of information and ideas within it towards our clients.
- Be a role model and support our professional growth by coaching and supporting our Juniors
Your profile:
We are looking for experienced Consultants who are strengthening our new local team in central Rotterdam
- You are passionate about the energy transition or transactions in energy markets
- You are educated to MSc level in a quantitative field such as Engineering or Economics, smart people with different backgrounds are highly welcome as well
- You have at least 4-5 years of work experience, preferably in energy consulting, transactions advisory (DD work) or industry
- You have an analytical mind and the ability to convey complex information in a clear and effective way
- You have excellent communication skills whilst also enjoying communicating new and complex ideas to a range of audiences in both Dutch and English language
- You are used to operate in a commercial environment against budgets and deadlines so you are a motivated self-starter with a business-oriented mind-set.
- Virtually all the work we do requires teamwork, within projects, offices and internationally. If you are empathetic and enjoy working effectively with others you will fit in well.
