The Purpose:
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Compliance Associate with more than 5 years experience to join our dynamic team at PPRO. The Senior Compliance Associate, reporting to the Head of Compliance, will be responsible for overseeing and maturing the company’s compliance programme within the EU and will play a key role in ensuring that our operations adhere to applicable laws, relevant regulations set forth by the CSSF, and internal policies. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective compliance procedures, conducting internal risk assessments, supporting audits, interfacing with the regulator and providing guidance to various departments within the organisation. They will be expected to champion a robust culture of compliance and risk management throughout the company.
What you'll be doing:
- Stay informed about evolving regulatory changes, laws, and guidelines specific to Luxembourg and EEA markets and assess their impact on the company's operations
- Contribute to the design and implementation of a robust AML/CFT programme
- Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines specific to local CSSF regulations and industry best practices
- Regularly assess the effectiveness and proportionality of PPRO’s compliance program through audits, risk assessments, and internal controls
- Provide comprehensive reports for senior management on the state of the program and areas of improvement
- Prepare and submit reports as needed to regulatory bodies (CSSF and BCL)
- Review customer applications and make decisions on customer take-on
- Carry out investigations related to suspicious customer activity or reports of misconduct
- Report activity as and when needed to regulatory bodies or the Luxembourg FIU, as needed
- Assist in maintaining open communication with regulatory authorities, government agencies and auditors and respond to inquiries or requests for information
- Develop and deliver training sessions for employees to enhance their understanding of compliance obligations and ethical standards
- Contribute to fostering a culture of compliance within the organisation
You'll need to have:
- Previous experience of at least 5 years as a Compliance Officer within the financial services or payments industry in Luxembourg
- Familiarity with CSSF regulations and requirements
- Strong understanding of AML/CFT principles and practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently
- Professional certifications in compliance (e.g., CAMS) are a plus
- Advanced professional knowledge of the English language. French and any other European language is a plus
- Residence in Luxembourg is required
