Job Title: Senior Compliance Advisory Manager  
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week 
Salary: competitive depending on experience (£60k-£85k) and up to 20% discretionary bonus and benefits 
Location: Flexible, hybrid work from any of our vibrant UK offices in London, Cardiff, or Blackpool.

Our Team 

This is a senior role within the team, leading the Compliance Advisory portfolio and supporting the Head of Compliance in creating and maintaining an environment in which senior management and the business are able to comply with UK regulatory requirements.  The overall Compliance team is split between advisory and monitoring and consist of team of 5 FTE.

The role holder will have demonstrable experience of compliance in a regulated environment advising senior stakeholders on the regulations, specifically in relation to mortgages and consumer credit, throughout the product/customer lifecycle. 

What you will be working on: 

  • Deputising for the Head of Compliance as needed 
  • Leading and oversighting the compliance advisory team  
  • Developing a strong presence and partnership model across the bank.  
  • Regulatory horizon scanning.  
  • Providing advice on regulation/regulatory change to the business. 
  • Supporting product & proposition governance across the proposition lifecycle.  
  • Compliance sign-off of financial promotions, customer communications, and training materials. 
  • Support the Head of Compliance with the Senior Managers and Certification Regime and supporting approved Senior Managers and accountable executives. 
  • Engaging with the regulator as required by the Head of Compliance including co-ordinating responses to requests for information.   
  • Support development of clear and robust policies and training.  
  • Identifying, investigation and resolving compliance issues.  
  • Collating and analysing relevant MI to identify compliance risks and trends. 
  • Presenting and participating at forums/committees 

 What we're looking for: 

  • Deep compliance and conduct experience gained (minimum 5 years) in retail Banking environment/consultancy or regulators.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, at pace and prioritise work  
  • Able to deliver individually but also a strong team player, leading 1 compliance advisory managers, in a team
  • Demonstrable experience of advising senior stakeholders on FCA regulatory matters relating to and with excellent working knowledge of: Mortgages, Consumer Credit, Complaints, Senior Managers & Certification Regime, Systems & Controls and Consumer Duty  
  • Strong focus on consumer outcomes 
  • Excellent attention to detail  
  • Strong communication skills, including the confidence to interact with and challenge senior stakeholders across the business 
  • Ability to appropriately challenge information and get to the heart of a matter  
  • Experience working at a digital bank would be an advantage   
  • A related compliance qualification such as CeMAP, ICA diploma in Governance, Risk & Compliance or equivalents an advantage
