Are you knowledgeable about Compensation, and want to work for a company that values the employee experience?
We are looking for a diligent and people-focused Senior Compensation Advisor for our Head Office People team, based out of either our Calgary or Vancouver branches, to play a critical role in driving the organization’s compensation strategy and programs. You will be involved in enhancing our compensation structures, salary benchmarking, and reviewing incentive plans while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with relevant regulations. You will collaborate closely with leadership, people services, finance and business partners to design competitive compensation packages that attract, motivate, and retain top talent.
A Day in the Life:
Support our goal of being the Most Loved Employer by ensuring we are rewarding our employees for all of the work they do!
Act as a trusted advisor across our branches and teams to ensure alignment with organizational compensation philosophy and industry best practices
Contribute to the design, development and evaluation of compensation plans for new hires, internal promotions, and employee transfers
Perform comparative analysis to evaluate current incentive programs against proposed changes and provide insights and recommendations based on findings
Assist in the review of job evaluations and classification for new roles within the organization, as well as monitor and initiate regular reviews to ensure our current evaluations are accurate and relevant to the role
Working closely with the finance team to ensure accuracy of monthly and quarterly incentive payments
Support the Annual Compensation Review process by assisting with the review of budgets, guiding leadership through the decision-making process, and determining how compensation budgets should be allocated based on relevant factors, such as market trends, internal equity, compa ratios, and performance
Provide insights into compensation tends by monitoring external market data and participation in salary surveys
Benchmark the company’s compensation tools and structures against industry data to ensure alignment
Participate in projects to support the implementation of solutions for improving compensation processes and technology
What You Bring:
5+ years’ of experience working directly in Compensation
Strong understanding of industry best practices relating to Compensation in North America
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with data modeling expertise
Technically adept with a strong focus on leveraging tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiencies
Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
What Makes You Extra Awesome:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related business specialization
Industry certifications relevant to Compensation such as a CCP designation
