Role Overview
As Senior Manager of Closure, you will:
- Spearhead closure strategies for Barrick's US legacy sites
- Minimize environmental impact and financial liabilities
- Preserve Barrick's social license to operate
- Report to the Director of North American Closure
- Provide support to site managers across California, Colorado, South Dakota, and Utah
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Drive safe, timely, and cost-effective completion of closure projects
- Develop and execute final closure strategies for US legacy sites
- Identify and mitigate operational, regulatory, and stakeholder risks
Team Management
- Coach and mentor site managers and staff
- Ensure adequate resources and management plans for compliance
- Develop succession plans for US legacy sites
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with Communities & Corporate Affairs, legal counsel, and site leadership
- Support community, government, and tribal relations
- Contribute to portfolio optimization through site redevelopment or divestment
Industry Expertise
- Provide guidance on closure matters to global operations
- Support closure strategies for other North American legacy sites
