Senior Controls Software Engineer - AUTOSAR, Embedded C

The team:

Our Controls and Vehicle Dynamics team develops software and algorithms to generate trajectory tracking control for key systems on the autonomous vehicle. Controls concepts associated with this team include linear/non-linear control theory (MPC, LQR, PID), kinematics, and mechanical system dynamics, although expertise in these areas are not required for this specific position.  

Position:

The team is looking for a software engineer to utilize their expertise in Embedded or Application C software development to partner with researchers and other software engineers to continue scaling and optimizing the autonomous vehicle control system.  In this role you will be developing application code and VCUs for the AV including the ECU and vehicle interface.

Role responsibilities:

  • Software design and development for controls modules that sit at the core of autonomous driving systems interfacing with vehicle directly
  • Logic development to enable health monitoring and autonomous vehicle body controls
  • Collaborate with controls experts and experienced roboticists on cutting edge algorithms from design, prototyping, testing, deployment, to productization.
  • Support code reviews and software architecture design

Impact:

This team has a large reach internally and externally, partnering with many different groups which includes OEMs, embedded controller hardware bring up, and safety (system health monitoring, backup controls when failure happens, redundant system design) to meet ASIL-D standards for autonomous driving.  

Experience to bring:

  • C software development, embedded or application-level
  • Embedded microcontrollers
  • RTOS, real-time constraints
  • Control system design (classic control, filters, state estimation)
  • Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related fields of Study. Bachelors, with Masters or PhD beneficial.

  • Infineon Aurix
  • Hardware interfaces (CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, Ethernet, UART, SPI, I2C)
  • Embedded system software and hardware debugging such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers
  • Vector CANalyzer, CANape, CANoe

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors including but not limited to specific skills, experience and expertise, role location, certifications, licenses, and business needs. $151,000$218,400 USD
