Senior Business Development Executive - Energy & Commodities

The role:

At Digiterre, we have ambitious plans to grow our business and bring our services to a wider base of clients. As a Senior Business Development Executive (Senior Client Partner), you play a key role in delivering on our growth ambitions as the first sales person on the ground in Germany. This is a hands-on lead sales role looking at opening new accounts and generating a large number of opportunities through high volume contact with prospects. 

Here you will use your experience and understanding of the sector to identify and build profitable, long-term relationships with both existing and new clients across our core sectors - capital markets, banking, asset management, energy and commodities.

As the Senior Business Development Executive working closely with the Senior Management team, you will be involved in a variety of activities including leading written proposals, bids and client presentations, managing your own sales quota selling professional services to top tier clients, supporting and driving both new business as well as existing account growth.

Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • You have demonstrable experience of selling professional services to solve complex software problems ideally in the energy and commodities market. Typical deal value of $1m+
  • You have previous extensive experience of business development in technology consulting or professional services operating at a senior level
  • You are a strong team player who works well with others to achieve organizational goals. You are eager to build solid working relationships with colleagues and clients
  • You can demonstrate a deep understanding and appreciation of Agile methodologies and what software development teams do in a professional services environment
  • You have the knowledge and experience to refine technical requirements, lead technical presales meetings, lead technical workshops or POC’s
  • You have expert understanding of targeting and lead generation with a proven ability to drive, develop and secure a pipeline of opportunities
  • You are adept at identifying and prioritizing opportunities and evolving them into qualified certainties
  • You have a consultative approach, demonstrating real curiosity, understanding of and a desire to help solve complex software problems
  • Commercial acumen for making T&M/fixed price managed service deals
  • Proven influencing and negotiation skills
  • You are a continuous learner and demonstrate curiosity and interest in your work. This is a fast paced, constantly evolving technology market and you have a keen interest in the application of software and data technologies to solve significant business problems for large enterprises
  • At all times promote and exhibit our core values of quality, care and leadership
  • You are willing to travel within Germany, to Switzerland, the UK and Europe for customer visits. There may be occasional travel to the Americas and Asia
  • German speaking

Advantageous to have:

  • A considerable network of C-level/Decision maker contacts
  • Subject matter expertise in the sectors in which Digiterre operates
  • A relevant degree ideally in Computer Science or engineering
