Position Description

Under the leadership of the Director, Compensation & Benefits, this position will be responsible for executing our World Class Benefits Strategy and driving the next evolution of Benefits at Victaulic. This role will be instrumental in working with our benefits broker and benefit vendors, partnering to provide a seamless experience to our employees and their covered family members. This position will work collaboratively with employees, HR colleagues and business leaders at all levels. The ideal candidate possesses strong experience in benefits strategy and with demonstrable ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively. Partner with Broker to drive analytical rigor and deep analysis on effectiveness and competitiveness of existing programs; establish and drive key metrics including usage, engagement, and cost analyses.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage the overall employee benefits experience, contributing to the design of an inclusive benefits offering and developing new initiatives to enhance our employee value proposition to support our growth.
  • Plans and leads implementation and administration including open enrolment, of employee benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, life, disability, flexible spending & supplemental insurance.
  • Analyzes and evaluates services, coverage, and options available to determine programs best meeting the needs of organization.
  • Maintains knowledge of, benefit program trends, and prevailing practices among similar organizations & makes appropriate recommendations for plan changes to management.
  • Analyzes benefits experience for cost-control and risk-assessment factors. Maintain knowledge and keep abreast of current changes applicable to company policy and procedures and complex legal compliance.
  • Establish and maintains strategic partnerships with benefit consultants and vendors to support strategic organizational priorities and achieve maximum ROI on health and welfare investment.
  • Strong advocate for the companies Wellbeing program and initiatives Designs and delivers competitive benefit programs that support Victaulic’s strategic priorities and meet the needs of our team members and their families.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance of all benefit plans, including HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, annual filings, etc.
  • Lead for M&A Benefits activities such as due diligence, plan consolidation & harmonization.
  • Partners with Communications to develop and deliver creative strategies to communicate and educate employees on our benefit programs.
  • Provides escalation support to HR & Employees to answer their benefit questions, resolve problems related to access to or payment of benefits.
  • Leads management, auditing, and reviewing the company’s plans to ensure compliance with all company policies, state and federal laws and making recommendations for change as appropriate.
  • Establish foundational benefits education materials, resources decision support options so employees make effective benefits decisions for their life circumstances.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Ten (10) plus years of experience in benefits with a focus on building and managing business aligned benefit programs; preferably gained while working for a global, matrixed organization or equivalent.
  • Subject matter expert in retirement, 401k, and deferred compensation
  • Analytical skills to review and assess benefits packages from acquired companies, to recommend approaches to harmonization and integration of colleagues’ form acquired companies.
  • Ability to work with other areas such as HR, Industrial Relations, Finance, Communications and communicate in a way that is understandable to others.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and detailed oriented with curious mindset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and sustain effective partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task on competing and deadline sensitive priorities.
