Senior Behavior Therapist (SBT)

Hours/Shift: Hybrid, Flexible In-Person Schedule that equals 40 hours per hour

Salary: $50,000 Annually 

Job Purpose:

The Senior Behavior Therapist at Aspire Living & Learning is responsible for implementing treatment based in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, working cooperatively with the multi-disciplinary team and all necessary stakeholders, and assisting the Behavior Analyst with creating, teaching and monitoring programming including behavior and instructional intervention plans.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Implementation and Training: 

Demonstrates the skills to work a variety of individuals of varying ages and functioning level. Implement treatment, behavior, and/or instructional intervention plans based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis as developed as directed by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA/BCBA-D)/Licensed Behavior Analyst. Assist the Behavior Analyst with modeling and teaching of behavioral strategies for necessary stakeholders (e.g., parents, teachers, other behavior therapists). Conducts procedural integrity fidelity checks and provides feedback to staff. 

 

Creation and Development: 

Develops instructional and progress monitoring materials as assigned. Participates or assists with quality assurance activities as assigned by the BCBA (e.g., ensuring fidelity of data entry and reports to the BCBA). Create and implement a variety of data collection procedures including data entry and graphing in an accurate and timely manner. 

  

Communication and Consultation:  

Effectively communicate in both verbal and written form with necessary stakeholders. Accept feedback from supervisors to ensure the quality of program implementation. Communicates with the Behavior Analysts and Leadership team. Maintains ethical and professional boundaries and guidelines. Works cooperatively and collaboratively with all necessary stakeholder

 

Qualifications:

  • At least 6 months exemplary performance as a Behavior Therapist with Aspire or at least 12 months exemplary performance as a behavior therapist with another ABA provider.  
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (e.g., Psychology, Special Education) strongly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Computer skills desired but not required
  • Must have satisfactory background checks
  • 1 year experience with individuals with Autism, intellectual disabilities, or other social/behavioral needs
  • 1 year experience in implementing and collecting data related to areas such as School-Wide PBS, Tier Plans, Direct Instruction, Precision Teaching, or other behavior analytic measures

 

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times 
  • Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation
  • The position does require travel to group homes and other state offices periodically.
  • This position requires the routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, tablets, phones, copiers, audio/visual equipment, etc.
