Senior Battery Technology Specialist

We are seeking a Senior Battery Technology Specialist to join our growing team. This is a pivotal role in driving our battery technology strategy and supporting the development of next-generation hardware. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across engineering, R&D, and product management to guide the development and integration of battery solutions that meet Oura’s high standards for safety, performance, and reliability.

What you will do:

• Contribute to the hardware roadmap by developing and executing battery technology strategies aligned with company goals.
• Drive the design, validation, and integration of battery solutions, ensuring high standards for safety, longevity, and energy efficiency.
• Lead efforts to evaluate emerging battery technologies, materials, and designs, identifying opportunities for innovation.
• Develop robust testing and validation protocols to guarantee reliable performance across various product conditions.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and embedded systems, to integrate battery solutions seamlessly into our products.
• Oversee the technical documentation and compliance requirements related to battery technology, adhering to industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Act as an in-house subject matter expert on battery technology, providing guidance and technical insight across projects and functions.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in battery technology, with a deep understanding of design, validation, and manufacturing processes.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing battery systems for consumer electronics or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of battery chemistries, safety protocols, and testing standards.
• Ability to assess technology trends and make strategic recommendations for incorporating new battery innovations.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially with cross-functional and international teams.
• Familiarity with battery management systems (BMS) and their integration into hardware architectures is a benefit
